Privacy Statement
Camphill Families and Friends is committed to looking after your personal information and to meeting our obligations under the General Data Protection Regulation 2018. This privacy policy explains what personal information we collect about you and how we use that data. It also sets out how you can ask us to update, correct or delete the data we hold about you and how you can opt out of receiving communications from us.
Who we are
Camphill Families and Friends is a registered UK charity (registered charity number 1078930).
What information do we collect about you?
We collect information about you, when you:
• become a member of Camphill Families and Friends
• sign up to receive our occasional news updates
• sign up to attend one of our Open Meetings
• contact us through our website
We collect your name and contact details, information on which Camphill community or communities you are associated with and how, and details of how you pay your membership fee.
How do we use the information we collect about you?
We use the information to administer your membership and to send you news and information about our work, including arrangements for our twice-yearly open meetings. Our occasional news updates also include information on other Camphill-related matters, and news about health and social care and learning disability more widely, including changes in relevant legislation.
Where possible we will send these communications by email. If you prefer, you can ask us to contact you by post instead. We may also very occasionally contact you by telephone (for example, if you have signed up to attend one of our meetings and we have had to make a change to the meeting arrangements at short notice).
How do we store the information we collect about you?
We promise to store any information you share with us as safely and securely as possible.
Mailchimp
Our email list is hosted by a third-party provider, MailChimp, which guarantees the security of your data via its own privacy policies and corporate terms.
By default we will retain your data in MailChimp for as long as you remain a member and/or choose to stay subscribed, or until we consider you to be inactive (for example, if you are no longer opening our emails).
You can update your details or opt-out of receiving our emails at any time using the ‘Unsubscribe’ or ‘Email Preferences’ links at the bottom of every email we send via MailChimp. If you unsubscribe, MailChimp will retain your email address for the purposes of a suppression list to ensure that we do not inadvertently contact you again without your permission.
In addition to the information you supply at sign-up, MailChimp will also capture data about your interactions with our emails, such as whether you open our messages and which links you click within an email. It does this using a combination of tracking pixels and cookies. We use this information to understand how members interact with our messages, including how useful they are to you.
Google Forms
We use Google Forms to manage online applications for membership of Camphill Families and Friends. Data submitted through these forms is stored securely on our Google Drive. For more information, please view Google’s Privacy Policy.
Who else do we share your personal data with and why?
We will never share your information with any other organisation. On occasion, and only with your explicit consent, we may pass on your details to another Camphill Families & Friends member: for example, to a member with a relative at the same community as your relative.
How can you access and update your information?
You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you and the right to have that information corrected if it is inaccurate or incomplete. If you would like a copy of the personal information we hold about you, please email us on info@camphillfamiliesandfriends.com
How long will we keep your information for?
We will hold your personal information for as long as you remain a member or subscriber to our news updates.
How can you withdraw consent for us to use your data?
