There’s a huge amount of information and resources available which can help you support your family member or friend. We’ve collected together some of those our members have found particularly useful. If you know of a resource which others might find helpful, please let us know.

- List of Camphill communities in the UK – a useful list with links to websites.
- Handover Guide – we created this free guide because some of our members wanted a summary of the most important things to know, when supporting someone who lives in a UK Camphill community.
- Thinking about gifts and wills – we’ve created an online guide assist if you wish to donate money or leave a gift in your will to someone living in a Camphill community, to a Camphill community or organisation, or to the Camphill movement in general.
Learning disability organisations
There are many national charities which work to support people with learning disabilities and their families. Browse their websites for advice on funding, benefits, social care, housing, and much more.
- Disability Rights UK
- Learning Disability England: LDE brings together people with learning disabilities, families, professionals and organisations. Camphill Families and Friends is a member of Learning Disability England. Individuals can also join.
- Mencap: a UK charity supporting people with a learning disability
- National Autistic Society: the leading charity for autistic people which aims to transform lives, change attitudes and create a society that works for autistic people.
- Sibs: the UK charity for brothers and sisters of disabled children and adults
- Scope: a UK charity which campaigns for equality for people with disabilities
Local authorities and Independent Safeguarding Boards
Your Local Authority and Independent Safeguarding Board can also provide useful advice and information. There are too many to list here, but you should be able to find them with a quick online search.

Capacity and consent issues
- Office of the Public Guardian: The Office of the Public Guardian protects people in England and Wales who may not have the capacity to make certain decisions about themselves,such as decisions about their finances or health. If you’re thinking about Power of Attorney or applying to be a Deputy for your relative, this is a useful site.
- Voiceability offers advocacy support to people facing disadvantage or discrimination,including people with learning disabilities.
